There are a few issues. First of all, some jackass in Nintendo's gonna find a use for the touch screen. It could be useful like in Jump or stupid like in Squeak Squad. Also, screen's a bit small so what's gonna happen when the camera zooms out for a wide shot? Small maps are no fun.If this is made, I'd get it but without very high expectations.

I don't personally think that a Smash bros for the DS would have the same impact it had for the N64, but out of curiosity I would still try it out.

I remember reading about an N64 emulator in the works for the Nintendo DS several months ago. I can't seem to find any information about it now though, so I am going to assume that it was dropped and is now a lost cause. The idea of it is great though. If Super Smash Bros were to be emulated on the DS I am more than confident some kind of adhoc/wifi support could be integrate for multiplay.Hell, if I was a coder I would seriously be working on something like this for the DS and distributing it freely. I mean, PSP already emulates PSX games on it right now, so what's to say that NDS won't do the same thing for the N64 some day?We can only hope.

Wouldn't we all.Yes, the idea is unlikely, very unlikely, actually. I do wish they would do it though. They haven't gotten any N64 games on the DS yet though have they?

I would love it, but I think they should add in some new characters like phoenix wright or some Hotel Dusk characters to mix it up.

I dunno, it might be fun. You move, jump and duck with the d-pad, use different attacks with the stylus, while holding l, or r... it could work... forward and l is smash attack... away and l could be a defense/dodge... up and down other types of attacks.. or tripple jump. if they thought about it enough, they could prolly do it.

I don't think it will be any good, I think the screen would be way too small for a game like that. they should stick with it to n64/wii imho

Actually, if they don't use the top screen they can put more the DS's processor power towards the graphics.I think that it would work out well if they put a ton of effort into it.

I've heard info from some of my friends that there'll be a SSBDS version. and as my friends and I always organize NGC parties which always contain at least one cube for ssbm, I'd like to know if some of you have heard anything about a possible SSBDS.TIA, tha cloudbolt

Yeah that would be pretty sweet, but all these people are putting fake videos on youtube of it, but it should come, nintendo would be stupid if they didnt make it!

I think it would be better than the one on GC cause the other players would not know your position etc...But on the other hand it would be very hard to get acustomed to because of the differences between GC/DS.Nice idea btw :gay2:

I don't really like the sound of it, SSB on a handheld it would make one crucial mode harder; multiplayer, still the best thing about SSB. Frankly, multiplayer games on the DS are pretty hard to pull of, it would mean you'd need 4 DS and 1-4 gamecards as well... Not good when you're with friends who don't own a DS.

Wi-fi, my friend. Also, there could be download play, but if you had a card you could access more areas. As long as the come out with a joystick attachment for the DS, I'll be fine.
