Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts!! Theyre awesome, esp if you like cool graphics!! 
Marvel VS Capcom is quite good as well, i like it even though im not really into action.

o wow i could go on for a while about this....RPGS i would definitely recomment pretty much any final fantasy (PS1 ones as well as PS2)Dragon Quest VIII was also pretty good...the Xeno series (Xenosaga, Xenosaga II, and Xenogears if u can get ur hands on it)Kingdom Hearts is good if u don't mind the Disney bit...DisgaeaPhantom BraveMakai KingdomAtelier IrisNot exactly RPGs but also really good games...Shadow of the Colossus (its action adventure, but it's just amazing...)Ys Ark of Napishtim was action-RPG but also pretty good (and it's also short which could be a plus)Castlevania Lament of Innocence and Symphony of the night=awesome

Well really final final fantasy games are a need when it comes to ps2 then are like the best rpgs i have played. But thats my opinion and also other games like rachet and clank are really addective. I feel that about 70 percent of all ps2 games are fun and addective. But its purly just my opinioin, others may feel different. path of neo and god of war are the latest games i am playing and they are soooooooooo fun i would recommed in getting those games.

If you like SRPG's then I'd recommend Makai Kingdon and Disgaea, they are two of the best games for PS2, plus there is no level caps for both games, you can be level three million with a billion HP, strength, defense, ect.Also can't forget Kingdom Hearts and Star Ocean: Till The End of Time.

Probably all been sed but i cudnt b bovad to read uva postsFF games..ALL of em..they all rockGTA games...III, VC AND SA..all very guud time consuming gameserr Prince of Persia 2 Thrones..Gd gameDynasty Warriors r fun old style fightin games u kno sword n bowGran Tursimo 3 nd 4 for PS2 and get number 2 aswell is a good classicTekken 4 and 5Pro Evo 5FIFA 05/06Soul Calibur 2 is good and 3 is out now and thts quite AMAZING!!Hope it hlped...
