I have only tried the old NES and SNES zelda games so far (via emulation), but I find those really dull. A lot of wandering around mixed with minimalistic action. Also, I have not played any Mario on the Cube yet, but I do like the SNES and NES games. I want to try the newer 3D Zelda games, but it's not a high priority for me. So... for me it's Mario over Zelda. Having said that, I find that the Mario games, especially the older ones, can get frustrating at times. Some levels seem insanely difficult and I end up getting stuck at them for long periods - I've never actually finished any of them. Super Mario World and Yoshi's Island (here I'm talking about the SNES games) are much better in this regard than Super Mario 1 and 3 (I haven't played Super Mario 2 much.) I think I really prefer the Kirby games, though, which are more forgiving, plus a game like Kirby's Dreamland 3 allows me to play simultaneously with my 5 year old son, which proves to be a lot more fun than playing the Mario games with him, only being able to alternate play. The Kirby games are easier, but still have some challenge to them. It seems like the perfect mix for me.what type of games do you like better,Mario or Zelda Games? You decide.
I can't say that I agree with the "Mario for younger people" bit - I'm 39 and I prefer Mario. I suppose I am a kid at heart though, especially becoming so once I had kids - one of the great things about becoming a Dad is that it gives you an excuse to shed the bonds of adulthood and do all the stuff you then realize you have always *really* want to do... this time with your kids. For example, I'm looking forward to the day when my kids are ready for skateboards. I'm definitely getting one too.Hmmm...Mario for younger people, Link for older. Mario has that great arcade style to it, while Zelda games have the more thinking parts. Of course there is the usual Button-Mashing, but you have to work out when to do it. But, I prefer Zelda games. Quite addictive and a bit challenging.

Heh, most Mario games are the basic jumping on enemies, jumping over giant holes and spamming fireflower. So kids would prefer this more over the Water-Temple-like (OoT) challenges of Zelda. But I think TP is the perfect game for both audiences, because it has challenges that are easy enough for new comers, but they are challenging enough for veterans. So yet again, Zelda takes the prize.Wow, children sound fun. I would always thought they would act like my little sister. "MUMMEH, DADDEH! HELP MEH! I CANT DO MATHS (Yes, in Australia is "Maths" and not "Math") QUESTION WHEN ALL I HAVE TO DO IS USE MY FINGERS! IM GOING TO CRY NOW!!!!!!!" She is sooo annoying.... :'(I can't say that I agree with the "Mario for younger people" bit - I'm 39 and I prefer Mario.
