Mario has a wide variety of games while Zelda sticks to the strategy/adventure genre...i'd say they are equally good

I like both games. If I dont have any friends over than ill have to go with Zelda. Mario games are really fun with a lot of people.

Zelda games are a lot more detailed and there are some Great storylines in them, which is the opposite of Mario games except for Super Mario 64 and Rpg.

zelda games are the best i've played! surreal graphics, complex storyline, awesome gameplay. i reckon it beats mario anyday.and my most awaited game is legend of zelda: twilight princess. not super mario galaxy. it's good, but zelda is better.
and a note to you, gaara of the sand, legend of zelda is not weird. mario is weird. not saying i don't like mario, but still: he's had a frog suit, a boot he can jump in to, he resides somewhere called the mushroom kingdom, his nemesis is an overgrown turtle...get my point?Mario is the best, Mario is incredible.Link is very strange.I like of all Mario games.

Zelda mostly because they are more serious and adventure. As for Mario there are the sports games that are not always desirable to those who do not like that particular sport.
