Some are easier. I like that most newer games have way more options than older. Of course better graphics helps a lot!

The difficulty has decreased over the years for the average game. Saving added to this, back in the day you'd have to go through a whole game in one shot, now you can save and continue or restart at a point as many times as you choose. Also more advanced controls add to the added ease, things were harder when all you could do is jump and attack.

New games aren't getting easier, they just seem that way because they are a lot more fun and they are much more fast paced :P

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

98% of the teenage population does or has tried smoking pot.
If you're one of the 2% who hasn't, copy & paste this in your signature.

I believe some games are getting easier but now with games like halo 2, you can play others online that might be a lot better than you

The real issue here is developers nowadays are only thinking of money. I remember when street fighter alpha came out with the new "super" attacks, (i.e. shoryureppa). Everyone started ranting and sH** oh that was hot and this, that, and the third. I dunno about alpha 1 but alpha 2 for the snes i think was like 4 mb. Thats amazing stuff considering its on the snes, and every other games was like 1 or 2mb. Now we have some games that are like 600mb that can be great, they are long and hard, and some that are a gb, that have great graphics but are way too easy to beat. In the transition from normal streetfighters to alpha, not only did they improve gameplay but they also improved graphics, and they improved both by a lot. Why cant developers do the same now? Because of too many discs need to be made for the game. FF7 was 3 discs and its one of the greatest games ive ever played in my life.

i'm not so sure about the theory that newer games are getting easier, although i have to admit at least 50% of the newer games aren't any form of challenge, but there are plenty of games that can pose a challenge, the kingdom under fire games are easily an extremely difficult series, then there is some of the shooters out there that are ungodly difficult to beat. The ninja Gaiden series has been a hellhole of a difficult game from day one to present day. i think the mostly the easy games are the ripoff games and game trying to spinoff the popularity of a movie into game sales.

Some games are easier. Some games are more difficult. For me, the thing that makes games easier these days are the accessories you can use to play the games. Examples of this are auto fire, save state, and Game Shark. They really make gaming these days cheesy. However, if you remove these accessories, gaming would be more difficult compared before since more enemies can be rendered at the same time and bosses have insane HP. Just my two cents.

I agree.Games are getting easier and easier and easier. They just can't keep coming up with as much great ideas to increase toughness so much. All of them have been applied all over and over again and again. Also making games is a complicated process, the efforts should be appreciated. XD

Nah, games are getting easier, its not me who is getting better!! I say this 'cause I still play King of Fighters 94 sometimes, that was a hard game!!Even on the RPG world this is noticeable. For example, go play Final Fantasy 4 on the snes (not the stupid and easy US version, I'm talking about the japanese version) or the PSX version, then go play FF4 Advance!! Man, FF4 Advance is more like a tour than a game!!!

Man, I couldn't beat most of the games for my nes and some of my snes games back in the day. But now I beat a game in a week.. It kinda sucks and it's why I got into roms actually. I wanted to finally beat some old games. I still haven't beat the megaman games.

maybe it's just this generation are hard core gamers. maybe we have games running thru our veins. maybe we were trained by the government to play games at a new level. =P i rkn it varies from game to game. mario tennis PS tour on gba was a breeze. but then a MMORPG game, maplestory, is freakish hard. it took me eons to lvl up it was crazy.

Yeah Games have gotten kinda easier. But then again everytime a hard game comes out people complain"Oh its too hard""How are you supposed to play this?!""It sucks the bosses are all so cheep!"stuff like that, take DMC3 or Ninja Gaiden, most people no longer want to really try at game, look up some reveiws for those two, I swear anyone who gives them a low score WILL say something about the difficulty.

i don't think games are getting easier, but then again, i never stuck with a game long enough to see how hard it gets.

Yup, I think games are getting easier too. That's why I try to play them the hard way. Like playing Zelda games without taking any heart container, or playing RPGs without buying good equipement...Use your imagination! >.<

Yes They are getting easier with cheatcodes to each game and other things. But there are still a few exceptions.
