Yes, games are getting easier, because nowadays people ruin the ending, and most of the game creators right now only care about high tech graphics, they don't care much about the story lines no more.

Games have gotten easier. Some classics have kept their difficulty (Contra, Ninja Gaiden), some series were always easy (most Mario, Sonic), and many games have gotten easier because I think developers believe that no one wants to spend 55+ bucks on games that frustrate the living daylights out of them.

the games are not much easier, u can pick your difficulty, btw in older games it was hard because in most of the games u die by few hits, and in-game saving was-well not really there, but the gameplay was good, and every new game was a new idea, now all the games are just remakes in some sort.... :P

I'd have to agree here. Take Megaman 1 and Megaman 8 and compare them, it would seem to me that 8's a lot easier than 1.

i think some games are getting easier, because they need to appeal to a bigger audiencebut games like Shinobi, or Ninja Gaiden are still hard to me.

yes and no.Quite a few American made games are easier than before, because the goal of game designers is no longer to get as many quarters as possible out of gamers. Now the goal is to provide an enjoyable experience.Japanese games can get quite hard because to many in that country, a game should be challenging. Play Beatmania 2dx and prove me wrong.

Realistically, If you look back at the older ones it was the story or the style then that made them hard. The ones you have now are too easy or seem that way because once you've gotten to playing them you notice the lack of story in some cases and focus on beating it. The high graphics in newer games are nice mind you, but they take up more of the game and limit what can be done budget wise for story. So when you play a new one you don't really bother with discovering the back story, expecually with newer games in a long running line of them. And remakes don't help much either.

yh but thats because the game creators are looking at the graphics more AND how to make the game experience feel more realistic

I think they're getting too easy. People look more at graphics than difficulty, and then the companies make more nicer games, but easier in game play.

Depends on the different genres and games your into.Plenty of games are plenty tough today, so I'd say they arn't getting easier.

I've noticed that as well. Games do seem easier these days. Older games on the NES,SNES and Sega were defenitely less forgiving when you died. Least lives and continues.

For me I don't think so. Gaming companies are getting plans and updates on how to make games more fun and interactive including the game's difficulty.

I personnally think so. But remember the first time you got through Mario, how difficult it was. Nowadays its a breeze so perhaps its just gaming skills that have gotten better? As well I remember playing Doom when it first came out and it was haaaard (and I was playing on im too young to die) but now I can run though it on the second hardest difficulty. However Mega Man is still hard as hell.
