No they wont and even if they did they wouldn't call it PSP 2 thats a really bad name.

There have been rumors ever since the DS Lite hit that Sony was also planning a redesign of its portable. Some of those rumors have ground in reality, some of them are just wishful thinking. Nothing official has been announced, and Sony has shot down any chatter regarding a redesign saying it's not happening. With all this, PSP2 looks to be a pipe-dream — Like it's not happening.Apparently, it is.Various third party and highly placed sources state that the PSP2 is coming. Speculation is swirling around the industry, and third party publishers are hoping to tie their games to the PSP2 launch. Thing is, Sony has yet to pass along any information about when that will be. Meaning we won't see big third party titles at launch.Word has it that a big announcement will most likely hit at E3 with Sony unveiling the redesigned portable. An announcement of launch date (which should be sometime 4th quarter) is entirely possible as well. I highly doubt Sony will come out with an actual "PSP 2", they've just started doing all the PSP-PS3 connectivity stuff. If any, maybe something a la DS Lite- same machine, different package.edit: oh wow I didn't see the above post! Sorry. Anyway. Guess like I was right.

Although a new PSP sounds like a good idea, I highly doubt that Sony will make another one especially since I heard that they were going to stop making PSP games because they feel that the PSP will no longer be popular with the new generation of gaming out there. The handheld sector of gaming is dominated by Nintendo and Sony, not much competition, so why would Sony flood the market with another product.

thought PSP 2 is just a rumor?? Last time I read from an interview with the Sony executive is that no plan to release a follow on product until maybe after 2007.

LOL, the psp has been out for only 2 years. What make you people think sony gonna release PSP2? besides the games that have been coming out for the psp are all shity and few. PSP don't have that many games yet. I don't think Sony would release another handheld console for a while.

An internal 8 gig! I highly doubt that, and if it does then PSP2 will come with a nice big pricetag. The only thing I dislike about the actual PSP is the analog stick. There is no grip on it at all.

It's too soon for the PSP2 if you think about it, and the fact that tthe PSP and PS3 can be upgraded means they might last for 12 years.

Hmm I think a PSP"2" would be awesome, because the PSP right now has so many features, I really doubt it will cost that much Sony isn't crazy with money unlike Microsoft, selling the iPhone for $600, I think it's insane someone would actually sell something for that much, especially something portable. Anyways, I would think that Sony would eventually make a PSP"2", but not in the near future, maybe 6-7 years maybe, or somewhere around 4-5, because then the prices of PS3 would go down a bit to maybe $300, so yea.. I think it would be better, because Sony would add some more online features like they did to the PS3 and that would be awesome, because the PS3 can download music and other things, just from having a USB, and it all downloads ON TO the PS3, being able to store lots and lots of music and videos. In my total opinion, PSP"2" would be kick A$$!
