Even though i think this is a bit late for the birthday you was talking about i think they are both quite nice from PSOne experience but spyro is more approriate for young kids because i think its easier since he can fly.

People, People, Crash Bandicoot 1 is by far better than any spyro game to date, spyro is sooo boring, Crash rules, Crash all the way

I prefer Spyro because he's the dragon. I've actually played both series of games and I just like Spyro more because of how much I've taken to him. Storywise I don;t know much about either, but the Spyro games have always been fun.

Spyro: Year of the Dragonfly kept me busy for a few minutes. I think that the idea of Spyro is cooler than Crash, but neither has ever made me laugh when it comes to that.
