I pretty much grew up playing MarioKart64, so I like that better. Though MKDS has cool missions and fun tracks. Online-play is awesome!

Actually, I used to prefer Mario Kart 64, but after playing for a while, I have to go with the DS one. Tighter controls make for a much better experience.

My vote goes to Mario Kart DS. Its got more racers, karts, tracks, and not to mention you can play it online with the wifi.

I still like N64 version. Just something it that makes me keep playing the game even after mastering it for how many years.

I've played (and loved) the Mario Kart series since the first game. Mario Kart 64 is a true classic. Me and my friends used to play it pretty much all the time back in the N64 days (until Super Smash Bros. that is). It's still a great game.Double Dash, while a fun game in and of itself, didn't really top MK64 in my opinion. Mario Kart DS however... That's a whole other story. The amount of tracks (I love some of the new tracks and the fact they added sixteen tracks from the four previous games), the graphics are pretty good, the sound is great as well and the gameplay is better than I would have thought possible. It plays extremely smoothly. The only real downsize is that it's handheld only, hehe. I would have loved to play MKDS on a big TV with three of my friends at once. Then it would have totally rocked the earth. In its current incarnation, I still think it has the edge over MK64, but not by much. Both are awesome games.

Something about the 64 version seemed to lack that feeling that made the original SNES game fun. For me, that feeling is in the DS game, so that gets the nod from me.

I like mario kart 64. The analogue stick is easier because you can ease into the turn rather than going into it full force.

I preferred mario kart 64 and GBA mario kart. They actually had shortcuts. It was hilarious when me and my cousins would compete to find all the shortcuts and when one of us messed up, they almost had no chance. It was hilarious.
