mmmm... its hard to choose. On one hand, MapleStory is a childish game with childish graphics and repetitive, tiring missions. On the other hand, Runescape.....umm...Argh, i feel to lazy to compare them :haha:The bottomline is, i think MS is much more addictive than RuneScape because of the variety of classes you can choose to play. Runescape is not as childish as maplestory but doesn't even compare in popularity. Besides, Runescape IMO is more of a pay to play (or play to have fun) than MS

Maplestory and Runescape both are crazy over the idea of grinding later on. I would vote on Maplestory though, since the animations are better, and you dont need as much RAM & internet speed compared to RS. RS is just mad slow unless your up to date. Also RS, I agree with all the others, has HORRIBLE graphics.

I actually played both of these for very long amounts of time. Lets first start off with Maple story.Maple story is more of a game if you like to be very interactive with your game. There are several classes to choose from, so remember when you are choosing your class that you will stay to with it. Another thing on top of that go online and look up builds for your certain class and be sure to follow EXACTLY the build it shows online because it is so easy to mess up your character and you will have to spend tons of NX (cash shop points) to fix it or you will have to make a brand new character. An up side for every server you have several slots for different character classes. You can join guilds and enjoy party quests with your friends you will make online. The graphics are pretty good in my opinion considering that I am an Anime fan. I think that the controls are very good to use because it is very easily customizable. The more that you level the more access you will have to skills and thus making the game more fun because its going to be higher paced because you will be risking that much more when you die. When you die don't worry about losing your items because all you will lose is some xp. Maple story is a very fun game to play when you have a good computer, good internet connection and plenty of time.Runescape I played several years back and still do have access to my character. Runescape is more of a game that you click and watch. It is very simplistic and yet it can be very addicting. It is very easy to make friends and yet be careful of scammers because they are everywhere. Pking or player killing is actually in this game which gives it an edge over MapleStory, however this can be very frustrating because people will trick you into being on to their pking team take you out from where you are safe and kill you and take all of your hard earned items. This game is also a bit easier to pick up than MapleStory because of its simplistic controls although these controls can make the game quite boring. The 3D graphics are pretty good in my opinion although i usually stick with the old graphics because I'm one of the older gamers that used to play (I still go on occasionally and see if any of my old friends are on). Runescape can be very limiting unless you are a member. When you are a member there are so many mini-games and more quests that open up to you. This membership is kind of cheap it depends on your opinion of cheap remember you must have a credit card available or mail them your money. The last time I checked (I'm not a member anymore) it was around $5. Beware though when you buy membership and then quit you will have a hard time because you will have to get rid of all of your member items because you cannot use them on nonmember worlds and you have limited bank space or should i say a MUCH smaller bank space.Overall in my opinion I think that MapleStory is much better because it requires the player to become more involved with the game. It is all up to you though. Do you want a game that requires much attention while playing or one that requires less. MapleStory if you like a little bit faster paced game, Runescape if you want a slightly slower. If you want my names just send me a message.

If we are to compare them, we should first inspect the likes between them..That are really few .. but the one thing that is really common is the fun of gaming but i think that maple story perfects at that .. even more than Runescape.. Runescape may have more options up on their game play .. but maple has more entertaining atmosphere .

Maple Story wins this because of its beautiful graphics, and easy gameplay. Runescape took forever with Tutorial Island, and the graphics look severely outdated.

Runescape. Maple has a problematic society with people kill stealing all over and people bullying others online but runescape has a more decent society with people having fun, getting to know others and even quiet for the lone wolves.

Runescape, but that's not saying much.
My experience of RuneScape would lead me to say otherwise. But it has been a while since I've played, maybe it's better now. I remember a lot of spammers and level 50 people who just stalked me whilst unloading a catalogue of insults. Oh, but the worst people were the people who hogged the mines to take all the ore. Grrr...The above being said, MS does have the less tolerable community. It's got more spammers, and players who have yet to learn polite manners. To be honest, any MMO, no matter how fun the game, isn't good if the community can't be made to behave and play maturely.Runescape. Well...graphics-wise, I'd have to give it to Maple Story. It may be cartoonish, but RS, even with some of the upgrades over the years, the characters are still somewhat faceless (though they have gotten a bit better recently). The chat heads on dialogues are pretty good, though.Gameplay-wise, it goes to RS. Maple Story seemed to just be "Fight monsters to get equip/ingredients for equip, then when you can finally get your equip made, you're higher level than it, so time to farm for the next equip". In RS, at least there are other things than just fighting, like mining/smithing, fishing, woodcutting, etc, to break up the monotony. And ye gods, that platforming quest in MS for the flower basket. It, quite frankly, made me rage. "Almost there..." *gets hit by a single ball, falls all the way to the bottom* "%^$&!!!"Let's just put it this way, I've played Runescape for over 9 years now, off and on. Maple Story....not so much.

i havent tried maplestory so i can't judge, but i like runescape i just hate how much time and work you have to put in to the game to get level 99 in any skill

Personally my vote goes to Maple; sure, the community sucks almost as hard as the RS one, but the art style and fighting mechanics are (for the most part) great.

This is tough but im going to have to say Runescape just because of you not needing to download and install it like maple story which makes it more appealing to the person with a computer that is lets say slow.

maplestory is much better than runescape... but that doesn't mean maplestory is a very good game either :Dbigbang ruined it.... or i just played too much before
