In Topic: do you use your fingers on the touch screen?

Most of the time, I don't have the precision needed to use just a finger. For instance, playing Picross DS would be an interesting challenge using fingers. However, there are some games where a finger works fine. Specifically, Pokemon Diamond/Pearl and Phoenix Wright are both games where it really doesn't matter if you use a finger or a stylus. Thus, it is a game-by-game basis on whether I use a finger or not.

I was working on Puzzle Quest for a while, and Phoenix Wright, and Touch Detective, and Phantom Hourglass, but when I discovered Picross DS I have lost almost all of my DS gaming time to that. I can't wait until I finish all the picross puzzles so I can finally feel "free" of it. o.O

Are Diamond and Pearl really that different? No didn't so. So I like em' both.

This is my exact opinion on the two games as well. They are the same exact game with the only difference being some of the Pokemon == same game. That said, the only Pokemon game I have played has been on the DS and it was Diamond (although I chose Diamond arbitrarily.)

In Topic: Why did you buy a DS?

03 November 2007 - 07:00 PM

I received it as a Christmas gift, but I requested it because I was intrigued by its popularity and also that I didn't have a handheld gaming device.Prior to getting it, I always thought that handhelds were silly. I wondered where would I play on a handheld? After getting it I now know the answer: everywhere. The biggest thing I overlooked was that I assumed that the only time anyone would play a handheld would be when you are out, otherwise, why not just play a console game? Well, it is nice to be able to screw around with it while watching TV, or in bed, or at a friend's or family member's house.

I picked up Pokemon: Diamond for the DS when it came out months ago and have played it off and on since then. It is my first Pokemon game and I was surprised by how much fun it was: I thought it was just a game for little kids. The format of the Pokemon games seem to be all very formulaic: you find a Pokemon, are invited by some doctor to capture them all, then you go out and try to get them all and get the badges from the different gyms.Well, I was reading about someone mentioning how much they enjoyed Digimon World DS, and that it was a similar type of game to Pokemon. Well, I borrowed it from him and I was shocked; it isn't just similar, it is essentially the same game from a different company! You start off learning about the Digimon, are encouraged to capture them all, have to prove yourself, etc.I didn't fully play through since I really was more interested in my Pokemon game (and that he wasn't done with Digimon and wanted it back) but it seems like there is no question: it is a ripoff of Pokemon! I'm curious about what others think, specifically those who have played through the whole thing. Also, anyone who has played both Digimon and Pokemon, which is your preference?
