In Topic: [GAMES] First GameCube game

16 March 2008 - 04:44 AM

My first game was actually seven: I got the four game Legend of Zelda pack (included; LoZ I, LoZ II: Adventure of Link, LoZ: Ocarina of Time, and LoZ: Majora's Mask.), the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Super Smash Brothers Melee, and Pikmin. Out of all of them, Pikmin was easily the most original, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was the most famous, Wind Waker was the newest, and Super Smash Bros Melee was the most fun. I like all of the decisions I've made on games for my cube since, as well. Since then I've bought Metrioid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Super Monkey Ball, LoZ: The Four Swords Adventures, LoZ: Twilight Princess (ZOMG! Two delays later), Pikmin 2, Mario Kart: Double Dash, Super Mario Sunshine, and Paper Mario 2: The Thousand-Year Door. A list of must haves, in my opinion.

In Topic: Hardest SSBM event

15 March 2008 - 06:14 AM

Yo, (Fourth post! Yeah!)I played this game when it first came out. Oh, I can still remember the blisters like they were yesterday. It has been so long I cannot give numbers, but I can describe them, so bear with me please. The Bounty Hunts event gave we trouble. Mainly because I was never good with or against Samus (although, I love Metroid Prime (1 & 2)).The last two events took about a day to complete. They weren't too hard because I had trained for a while against level 9 computers in Vs. mode.I was always exception with Kirby, Link, Marth, Roy, and Ganondorf, but the link's dark side event gave me hell. Link Vs. Link is an odd match. They just feel weird when fighting against each other. I always disliked Yoshi's event because of how small the stage was. I was horrible at small staged levels and thoroughly enjoyed the hyrule castle stage for its size.I'll return to SSBM someday, but for now my fingers cry to me when I reach for the box... :waaa:

In Topic: Longest Spent Playing a GBA Game?

15 March 2008 - 05:46 AM

Hello, (second post, second wOOt!!!)On good batteries (industrial grade) I have gone about 21 hours straight, and that was when I was at school and home. Sleep was not an option when it can to Pokemon Gold. I couldn't stop playing it, and when I beat it I still kept playing just catching and training pokemon. Honestly, has anyone ever reached the end of the phone system, or do people just keep calling you and getting stronger forever? I was addicted, but never played long enough to find out... (200 hours, I think)Otherwise, most of the time I spend on handhelds are at night so 12 hours on average is the longest I play. When going online (DS MP:Hunters) my playing time gets limited, 'cause I get bored. I don't know why wi-fi play bores me, but it just does. There's only one exception, Advance Wars (2). Peace...

In Topic: what did you do when you cant beat the game?

15 March 2008 - 05:32 AM

Hi, this is my first time posting on DGEmu (wOOt!!!).I always try to keep a strong resolve when it comes to beating games, especially handhelds. Usually I try to beat a level I'm stuck on until my batteries run low, and then I let the game rest for a day or two. I use internet guides somewhat, normally when something is beating me hard, and I just can't figure it out. Which, for me, it's a good two day struggle before I give in. Unfortunately, this strategy usually makes me what to bash my skull into my desk when I realize just how simple the solution to my problem was. There have been a few instances were I could only beat the game with a guide, and I was disappointed by the outcome of the game (Golden Sun, sigh). ^.^ Golden Sun was a great game, but it sucked so bad when (spoiler)you just got on the ship and that was the end(/spoiler). [lol, as if everyone hasn't already finished that game.] But, if I absolutely cannot beat the game, yet refuse to reach for a guide, I'll just let the game sit in its case for a while. I think of it as punishing the game for being too hard, and allowing my brain to develop some insight that I didn't have before. Otherwise my options are:1) Smash the GBA to bits in anger.2) Throw the game cartridge into a vat of beef stew.3) Tape a firecracker to the game cartridge and light it.
