In Topic: I Want Free MMORPG Games

If you're into humor and content, and don't necessarily need the eye candy, Kingdom of Loathing is a great MMORPG to play. It's browser-based, so no real great graphics (your character is literally a stick figure), but the gameplay is downright hilarious at times. They have classes such as Turtle Tamer and Disco Bandit, equipment like a projectile icemaker and Ol Scratch's ashcan (a tiny trashcan fire :D), and monsters like various types of hobos, gnollish crossdressers, even a mummy that refuses to die. Plus...what other game could you facestab a hippy? Plus, in about a little under a month, they should be doing their yearly holiday content, lovingly referred to as the Crimbo season, complete with free advent calendar. And the entire game is free. You can donate for access to whatever item of the month is currently in the store, but it's only for special equipment and familiars (like pets, they help you fight and stuff), but at no point is any content donation-locked. If an IotM familiar drops an item that unlocks content, it's always completely tradeable, and purchasable with in-game currency (which is Meat :D)And if you get a good clan, there's usually great conversation in /clan chat.

In Topic: Maple Story or Runescape

Well...graphics-wise, I'd have to give it to Maple Story. It may be cartoonish, but RS, even with some of the upgrades over the years, the characters are still somewhat faceless (though they have gotten a bit better recently). The chat heads on dialogues are pretty good, though.Gameplay-wise, it goes to RS. Maple Story seemed to just be "Fight monsters to get equip/ingredients for equip, then when you can finally get your equip made, you're higher level than it, so time to farm for the next equip". In RS, at least there are other things than just fighting, like mining/smithing, fishing, woodcutting, etc, to break up the monotony. And ye gods, that platforming quest in MS for the flower basket. It, quite frankly, made me rage. "Almost there..." *gets hit by a single ball, falls all the way to the bottom* "%^$&!!!"Let's just put it this way, I've played Runescape for over 9 years now, off and on. Maple Story....not so much.
