What changed my mind?: That's mine to keep.

Great debate point. o.O

If you have faith you don't feel alone as you would when you aren't and if your one of those extremest then you would follow rules and not commit crimes. So either way nothing bad will come from believing in angles/god.

Yeah, except for the fact that your IQ tends to get cut in half when you believe in an invisible, all-powerful being in the sky is watching our every move.

#5002366 Where does Hate come from

Posted by leaderofrouge on 21 March 2012 - 08:08 AM

I agree with/like Rob's justification. On the other hand, whereas we all emphasised on the "bad" hatred---i.e. associated with one or more poor outcomes from an incident.Using an alternative perspective, I believe there's also possible to generate "good" hatred. For example, an incident that leads to an universal "hatred" within the majority of the people involved/associated with the incident. I guess the concept is somewhat far-fetched but what I am getting at is that everyone are united to hate the "one thing" for a single consensual reason; example from my personal experience is that I was able to befriend a couple of students from my degree on the sole basis that we all had a poor relationship with one of the professors due to his egocentric/authoritarian/ignorant personality---I won't go into the details because I'm sure we've all met people who simply don't have a sense of appreciation, I dare say it's just out of pure ego and too used to people kissing his @$$, about anything that others do (for them or not).Anyways, back onto topic... So it gave us commonality and we got through the subject together---end of story =P

#5000181 Where does Hate come from

Posted by leaderofrouge on 17 March 2012 - 11:28 AM

Where does it really come from? It may be different for everyone. In my experience it usually comes from anger, ignorance, frustration and jealousy. I know if it's not right, but if i ever fail to understand something or make myself look bad in front of others. I will usually get angry with myself and hate myself a little more for small failures...this is only really common among perfectionists. What are your thoughts, opinions or experiences?

Rather than saying "in my opinion" several dozens of times in the following passage, I am just going to say right now everything written below is JUST my opinion/perspective/belief/"analysis", so... no offense :( ...... >_> ......... ^^;;It is of course an emotion; being an emotion, it would suggest that it originates from within oneself. It generally comes from incidents/situations with consequence(s) that is perceived to be negative and likely to be preventable. From experience, it would also be associated with resentment where one believes the outcome was unreasonable based on the thought-process that was decided upon. But more importantly, it is mainly a reflection of one's personality/attitude/opinion---leading to the interpretation of a given incident. But since the perception of one expressing hatred towards an outcome/incident does rarely representative of others (and other than him/her self), the most logical answer about the origin of hate would have to from within the perceiver's set of "instantanenous psychology"; note that a "set" here refers to the perceiver's holistic state (physical/mental/intellectual/spiritual/etc). Since emotions, being a state of expression, are never constant---e.g. it is always constantly sliding on an internal see-saw scale/spectrum as "things" occur---thus could be, and would be, prone to change/fluctuate. The suggestion here is that viewing the incident instantaneously or retrospectively would without doubt also affect the state of emotion---so, may be the incident only felt like it is hateful during the instant at which the incident occurred and when one reflects on the event it could be perceived as reasonable, for example. To summary all the ramble, hate comes from nowhere else other than from within one's state of emotion(s) & perception of incident.

Offtopic Holy crap -68 rep are you going for a record lol? A little to excessive on the - Rep.

I'm sorry chizzy, but this really got me laughing.Basically everyone has hate, though I can't say that this would purely result to anger. Some people hate to eat certain kind of foods, but they wouldn't rage over that food (unless the cook would force them to eat it). Also some people hate to cross dark alleys out of fear. For every Pain, there is pleasure. For every like, there are dislikes.

#5000756 Pokemon versions

Posted by ShadowPirater on 18 March 2012 - 05:44 PM

I vote HeartGold/SoulSilver for DS, Emerald for GBA. If you haven't played Gold/Silver or their remakes, I'd say go for that. 16 gyms total and 2 worlds to explore. Can't beat that.

#5000525 Deep Ocean vs Deep Space

Posted by Hentai K. on 18 March 2012 - 06:52 AM

Hoo boy, I feel like we are comparing star trek to that sci-fi show about a submarine that was cancelled on the second show. Comparing the two frontiers to each other, deep space still yields the most potential for expoloration than deep ocean, though that would be if I assume we are talking about the factors of exploration.

#5000683 Homosexual Marriage

Posted by Ragamuffin on 18 March 2012 - 10:22 AM

I disagree with 'legalizing' homosexual marriage because I do not believe the government should be involved in such affairs. I also feel the same way about heterosexual marriage, to be clear. Furthermore, I don't think that anyone should be forced to "accept" either one, or the concept of marriage period.I honestly don't care about the issue too much, because in the end, people are going to do as they please anyhow.
