#4924256 Which is the coolest martial arts?

Posted by Guest on 15 February 2011 - 03:03 AM

I'm going to have to counter your video with another one. IMO, modernized Silat isn't as flashy and more efficient in terms of movement conservation. The way he does it is slightly hybridized with Tai Chi and Wing Chun, but it's very effective and smooth. Browse the rest of his videos and you'll be sure to learn a lot.Outside of that, Sambo and Systema Spetznaz, both from Russia, and both employed by their special forces, are certainly on the top of the list. This is especially true since Fedor Emilianenko, currently the world's best fighter.Granted, Fabricio Werdum did beat Fedor, but even Fabricio could come out to say he got lucky and Fedor is still the best.

Yeah, i agree about Silat being really cool, Systema Spetznaz is also really awesome. But, i think as far as destructiveness, i would take Muay Thai. It really is a killing kind of martial art.Has anyone ever heard of Phoenix Eye Fist and Qi Gong though? And one of my favorites is Drunken Brawler and Monkey

Tae Kwon Do for me. I've always been interested in the kicking part of fighting. Then one day I decided to pick up the art and started learning Tae. Training is tough, but worth it. Got a chance to kick a friend of mine senseless. I'm still just a white belt though. Cheers to all you black belts out there!

Wushu and wing chun are my top two. Both are a form of Chinese martial arts. Wing chun is ideal for close combat fighting and wushu is basically traditional martial arts "kung fu."

My favorite is the one that allows me the option of kicking a man's head clean off.idk, honestly i'm not subject to any one particular martial arts really. I've always wanted to enjoy martial arts, and i love learning new things. I believe any choice of a martial arts class would be fine by me, so i have no preferences.

#4997352 How does failure affect you?

Posted by Guest on 09 March 2012 - 10:52 AM

For me, it makes you stronger either way. When you fail, you feel bad about it, since you didn't manage to do what you set out to do. If you have a second chance to tackle the thing, then do it. Just because you failed once doesn't mean you'll fail a second time. If you succeed in the end, you get stronger. And even if you fail again, you get stronger since you've gained more experience. Just build on it and keep trying and eventually you'll succeed. But if you don't have that much wanted second chance, just accept your failure and move on. If you can manage that, then you've become stronger.

Well it makes me stronger. It actually does since it motivates me to work harder. People sometimes have to fail in order to suceed and that what happen in my case.

It sorta depends on what I fail on; if its a major thing that results in really drastic events, then I would probably break down and never attempt to do anything like it again. If it wasn't too big, I would just keep trying and get back on my feet again.

#4990919 How does failure affect you?

Posted by Yuto on 10 February 2012 - 04:52 AM

ooooh interesting topic!!

Well I myself am quite the perfectionist, so failure really is not an opinion. Whether it is in school, work or anything really, to be honest it's something i taught myself. It may also have something to do with past failures, I also attribute failure as a sign of weakness... not to say you can't learn from mistakes, however, I really try to prove i can become stronger than everyone else regardless of what it is... I rarely give cause for showing emotions other than anger if i fail at something.
