Robert Schimmel(from his CD - "Unprotected")"They make this place look so great... for dick jokes!""(at the circus) Daddy... how do they teach a bear to ride a bike?Simple. They nail his feet to the pedals and beat the sh1t outta him. He's really just running away, only he's attached to the bike.""The great thing about this brochure is that one man didn't write this. This had to be like 10 - 12 people at the American Heart Association, and one man in that meeting had to bring up anal sex. What about anal sex?....What about it, Frank? ... Now we know where YOU'RE at."

Chrono Cross, like Chrono Trigger on the SNES, came out toward the end of the PS1's life. Being such, it was one of the more refined games. We won't be seeing a PS2 Chrono game though.

Xenogears seemed to come out of nowhere at the time of its release, and it was so well executed. I have a great respect for surprise titles, and it's nice to see people still love it after all this time.

Medieval: Total War was the absolute funnest strategy game I've had the pleasure of playing. I tend to gravitate more toward turn-based games, though they tend to lack action. Medieval's campaign mode, however, combined turn-based Europeon warfare with tactical battles you had the option of commanding. The grouping of your units in these battles is a stroke of genius that allows you create sweeping epic battle befitting of your grand design in conquering nations. While Rome and Shogun were great in their own rights, Medieval seemed to have the most perfectly designed engine and interface.I understand there is also a sequel being developed to Medieval using the Rome engine. The screenshots on the official site were mind-jarring, but the trailer that premiered at E3 instantly sold me on the game. Thousands of troops now have individually scripted movement, which creates the illusion of the most perfectly rendered battlefield I've ever seen in a video game.

Final Fantasy III (U.S.) / VI (Jap.) in the SNES cartridge format, because everything about that game was incredibly iconic. It's one of the few games that has managed to burn its scenery into my mind consistantly, and its cast of characters has only ever been rivaled by Final Fantasy Tactics (in the FF series). I also enjoy the fact that there was no clear-cut protagonist in the game, and focused on every individual and their own contribution to the story. While Final Fantasy VII was good, I don't feel its characters have lived up to the pinnacle that VI achieved. VII was more atmospheric, given the nature of the hardware, and it seems the personalities of the cast suffered. Cid and Barrett stood out well enough, but everyone else felt so painfully two-dimensional. Were it not for this, I would hold FFVII in higher regard, but there it is.
