The best really. Pity it was released so late into the GBA's lifespan. But it really showed what a GBA could do. FFTA2 lived up to it in terms of gameplay, but the storyline was kind of disappointing. If they do create an FFTA3, which i think will probably be released on DS (or PSP :)), hopefully they will try and have a better storyline, maybe include some character development ala KOTOR? But honestly I still feel the tactics line are the best FF games handsdown. If it wasn't for FFTA i probably wouldn't even have started playing and FF games at all. The sheer customization, replay value and the amount of actual strategy involved blew my mind.

I have! It's got some insane replay value in it. Although the storyline do seem a bit out of a can...

Ah totally psyched, man, hope it comes out good. It's been way too long coming. I'm really interested in seeing what kind of new gameplay dynamics they can use for the synergies, especially with a stylus and DS double screen... cant't wait for it...

Well it depends. Some game have lousy replayability, like pokemon for instance. Replaying gets boring fast. But for other games there's tons of hours left to be unlocked.

Pokemon...Although it's like comparing orange to apples, you know. Both are good in very different ways, its not a fair comparison.
