When I was 4 I got a used Nintendo Entertainment system with Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. They got it for me because they were sick of me stopping and insiting I play every arcade machine we ever passed.
The Playstation 3 is hands down the best system on the market that is sadly, unsupported thus far. The Blue Ray player on it's own makes it worth more than 500. Beyond that it's the single most well put together gaming machine I've ever seen.
