Im kind of new to emulators, is it possible to upgrade the firmware on an emulator or is that just for flashcards?No, that's for flashcarts. PC emulators don't use firmwares.

Just to be clear, I'm trying desume and No$Cash, my first time using Desume and I'm guessing that this emulator will still freeze every now and then too. Will I need to do anything about the no leveling or do I need to apply a patch to the game?

I haven't tested it yet, but:1. Try it clean (without any patches). Follow the guide, and use BIOS and Firmware files. Under Config -> Emulation Settings you can try Enable Advanced Bus-Level Timing too, if you're facing problems.It shouldn't need a patch.2. If that doesn't work try the Universal Child's play patch.3. If that doesn't work you can try the xdelta patch.*Only try patches on clean, unpatched ROMs. Never patch a ROM twice!*

Went to Desume, found that that it was the emulator settings that added to the lag A LOT. Is there an AR code for EXP?GPs were deducted for this post, please read the rules! - jamzemu

Deducted as this has nothing to do with Anti Piracy issues. This is in fact no longer a problem now. The topic was unnecessarily bumped.Anyhow, Desmume is an emulator which uses up a lot of resources. That's just the way it is. The developers of that emulator concentrate more on compatibility than speed. So unfortunately, it will lag if you do not have good CPU etc.As for Action Replay codes... seriously, just google it. Something like "Pokemon Black AR code for exp" should get you some results.

No actually the EXP thing refers to the AP itself.Please refer to the original post for how to deal with the "no EXP" anti-piracy.

Weird...the JP version of Black works pretty well on my iEdge, though it does freeze every now and then. But that's to be expected, really :P

Hey, I got Pokemon Black (E) working on my iTouchDS card but I can't see the Menu/Save/Items feature and I'm wondering if there's a solution to the problem. I see in the post above this issue is listed as one for the emulator, but will it also work for the flashcart?

Try the patch and see. My patched ROM worked perfectly on DeSmuME, so I suppose it *might* help.

I would rather get White version because it has Zekrom which looks better than Reshiram. Also, White version has Wargle in it.

Wasn't getting exp on DSEMume but gonna try the patch now and see if it works. Did not get any freezes.Edit: Patched, and working, also yes... it does seem like this game runs a lot slower than other games on the Desmume, (Radiant Historia for example, was playing that before pokemon that game was running pretty smooth compared to pokemon white).

These are patches for the european releases ( (E) (F) (G) (I) and (S)). It probably will work with the U ROMs but it was made for the EU releasesEdit: Thanks Leon.

FYI there really is no big difference between an E(European) and U(USA) version, they're both in english... only thing that might make a difference is if one has an AR code or not.

As far as a difference between (E) vs. (U): It may make a difference if you have (U) version of the previous Pokemon games, since you can only transfer old Pokemon from a same-region game. As far as I heard though, saves from the (E) version work on the (U) version.Also, the patches should work on the (U) version as well. I was going to test it as soon as my ROM finishes downloading.
