Game Score: 6/10
For a straight-into-the-fight kind of dueling game, this is the one to choose. Unlike many of the others available, this game does not have an actual character for you to control. This allows you to challange anyone in or adjacent to the "area" you are in, with a day progressing after each duel (or talking to a passerby). This version allows you to use the card codes with no cost at all, allowing you to get basiclly any card you want, with the exception that you can only get the cards that had been around at the time of the games release. This in turn makes the point system worthless. (In the original Japanese version it cost points to use a card password.)
The graphics at a 5/10 are pretty basic, the majority of it being 2-D. When it comes down to a monster VS monster fight, you see the cards face eachother and one loses, unlike other games available, where you will actually see the monsters fight. In comparison, the sound also is very basic, coming up to about a 4/10. Personally I like to mute the game, and listening to my own music.
One thing I disliked particularly, was the constant asking at every step if you would like to activate a trap or quick play magic card, but that cannot be helped. The game does not have much in the way of a storyline, though tht doesnt matter too much, as the actual gameplay makes up for it. The following is the ranking I gave this game:
Graphics: 5/10
Sound: 4/10
Gameplay: 9/10
Longitivity: 8/10
Storyline: 3/10
All in all, I gave this game a rounded 6. A average game, but if you all you want is to duel, duel, duel, then this is the game for you.
