All-Star Baseball 2001: Reviews

Select Author:

Game Score: 5/10

Released: 2000
Game Genre: Sports

Gameplay (7/10)
There are a variety of game modes.

First, the Home-Run Derby, where you choose a player and try to hit as many home runs as possible.

Second is the Season Mode, where you choose a team, and play a season of anywhere between 13 and 162 games, followed by playoffs and the World Series, if you can make it that far.

There is also an Exhibition mode and an All Star Game mode, where you pick the players you want on your team and the opponents team.

Graphics (6/10)
The graphics are decent. That’s it. It’s kinda hard to tell where the ball is going sometimes and it’s pretty hard to tell how to get there, but they are tolerable.

Improvements (1/10)
Previous Game:
Allstar Baseball 2000

The players on the teams. That’s the only difference. And who knows if that’s an improvement or not. Everything is the same other than that.

Durability (5/10)
Somewhere in the middle of the road. If you really like baseball, the 162 game season won’t be a problem. However, at least for me, even the 80 game season stinks, but I played a 13 game season and had fun with it.

Sound:
Pretty annoying, but thankfully, there’s no music once you start a game.
