Download Points Improvements

Hello Members and Guests,Following the downloads improvements we've recently added and a bunch of staff conversation on the subject, we've decided to alter the download points concept a little bit, making it a lot more user-friendly, and way more user-benefiting:Only 2 Download Points TypesWe used to have a billion different currencies - One for system genre (Atari, Retro, Nintendo consoles, Nintendo handhelds, etc..) and another global one that reset everyday to 25 - we've merged all the system genres ones into one DP currency - Static DPs.So we now have 2 Download Points Currencies: - Global DPs - Reset everyday to 25 - Static DPs - Never reset, can be gained by either converting gps to dps or donating.Oh yeah - please comment with good (great) new names for these DPs currencies - Global DPs is kinda meaningless now because Static DPs are also global (can be used to download all the games on the site).Global DPs used first..Downloads now use your Global DPs first and only when you're out of it, your Static DPs will be used - that is how things should happen, that saves DPs to people who use not only the global ones (donators, converters, etc..) and makes a whole lot more sense than what was going on until now.Cheers, - Ben aka Dragons Master

Downloads Improved

Hey Guys,I've made some improvements to the download mechanism - so that downloads should now work better than before, with the tiny modification that downloads a now limited to 1MB/s - if any of you can download at uber speeds higher than this then I'm most sorry but this change was necessary to stabilize the downloads a little as we had lots of disconnections during downloads. The new system is a lot stable and I've already download gigs of gigs without problems.Also, We're finally making some real changes to the site - we're intending to upgrade to IPB3 (a new better forums system), we're upgrading the points system so you could download almost every game on the site and not be limited to simply 25 DPs forever and we're also looking for a new web design so If you're a VERY good web designer, you're free to contact me at webmaster [at] dgemu com and we can discuss everything woohoo.We're also considering adding further improvemente to the downloads algorithm like downloads resuming and well a lot of features and well I don't wanna pull all the rabbits in one time so stay tuned.In short, tons of improvements are awaiting us during the next few months!Also I'd like to say tons of thanks to our donators for helping us so much with running this site financially - it is thanks to the few dollars each of you give to the site we're able to run this gigantic, monstrous site and community, and go on improving the site.Have a great week, - Ben aka Dragons Master
