Pokemon Event Report + US Roms

Posted Image

As you all know it, today is the grand day where Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 are released.

Firstly, I wrote a quick report of a Pokemon event I attended today, showing a few goodies I got while I was amongst many Pokemon fans.
You can read on my small little report and comment on it here: http://www.dgemu.com...y-event-report/

Secondly, I know you've all been anxiously waiting for the roms to be released because I'm sure most of you are cheap people that willing to pay $35 for a game... (just kidding :P) For those people, I've already opened the official rom support thread here: http://www.dgemu.com...white-2-rom-us/

Both Black 2 and White 2 pre-patched roms are uploaded for your downloading pleasure. The AP Patcher has been uploaded as well. The clean roms will be coming soon (I think the pre-patched roms are probably what will interest the people more).

Enjoy~

Announcing the DGEmu Monthly Mixtape

Hey there!

We're going to try something new this month as a service to music lovers. Starting this month, we will hold a monthly contest where you all can submit your favorite songs to be included in a digital mixtape!

Participation in the contest will net you GPs, but there's a catch: The mixtape will have a different theme each month, and your song submissions must match that theme.

Given that October ends with Halloween, the theme for this first mixtape is horror. Spooky!

For more information on the contest and details on how to participate, head over to this topic in the Digital subforum. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Oct. 26.

On top of song submissions, we're also seeking artists to submit designs for the album cover! That contest also comes with a GP prize, and details can be found at the same topic.

We're hoping to make this contest an ongoing thing, as long as enough people show interest, so don't hesitate to participate!

Pokemon Event in Canada

Posted Image

Hello to all!
If you currently have nothing planned for the long weekend that is coming up, here's something you can do!

Celebrating the release of the latest Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 games, Nintendo is holding an event in Toronto and Montreal!

For those living in Toronto, the event will be open on Saturday October 6th from 9:30AM to 6:00PM and on Sunday October 7th from 11:00AM to 6:00PM.
This will be held at Promenade Mall, 1 Promenade Circle, Thornhill, Ontario.

For the people living in Montreal (such as myself), the event is open only on Sunday October 7th from 11:00AM to 4:00PM.
This will be held at La Récréation, 404 Ontario E., Montreal, Quebec near metro Berri-Uqam.

They will be giving away gifts on a first come first serve basis.

A reminder for those that are getting the game: Starting on October 7th, a Wi-Fi event to claim your own Genesect will be live. Don't forget to connect and claim it!
Another reminder: Don't forget to claim your Keldeo in the original Black and White games before October 6th so that you can trade it in to your Black 2 and White 2 game, unveiling its resolute form!

For those attending the Montreal event, you might be crossing me in person. :)

Official Notice for all Members with Disposable Emails!!

Time to crack down on stupidity!

Some of you may be aware there are sites with disposable emails, these emails generally last a few minutes up to about 1 week. These may seem great but we seem to be having a lot of "idiots" who email us (Via Contact Us) .... of course we try to help them but that is hard considering the email address they supplied is disposable and has already expired!

It is frustrating for us and "apparently" irritating for you! :wallbash: You're the silly goose who chose a disposable email, not our fault we haven't contacted you, we tried! It is also pointless to email everyone on DGEmu because ... once again ... you have a disposable email so won't receive the message.

We have updated our "Terms of Use" to include;
You agree that you will not use a disposable e-mail account to register to the site. You will be automatically banned.

I will also take this opportunity to remind everyone of the other BIG "Terms of Use" agreement;
You agree to open only a single account per household. Multiple registrations from the same household will be considered duplicates and will be banned.

Therefore, as of today!

All new users who register with a disposable email address will be banned upon discovery! :no way:

Those who already use a disposable email address for DGEmu have 7 days (before the 6th of October 2012) to change their email address to a proper one.

Reminder: Keldeo Wi-Fi Event

Posted Image

A quick reminder to all, here is your chance to get a level 15 Keldeo in-game.
All you need to do is go to your local Gamestop or EB Games and connect to their Wi-Fi to claim this Pokemon in your Pokemon Black and White game.

This will unlock the Secret Sword event in the game, and once you transfer it to your new Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 game that is being released the same week the event finishes, you will obtain its resolute form.

This works on both the real cartridge and also games running off a flashcard. Go claim yours today, as I claimed 6 of them already of my own. :P

Attention to all android phone owners

Recently an exploit has been exposed on samsung smartphones that is able to wipe your whole phone (including data, apps, etc.). The worrying part is that this exploit can be started by simply loading a website. If your phone loads a single line of specific code, your phone can be wiped. It seems that not only samsung smartphones are affected, but other android smartphone manufacturers as well. Please use extreme caution while surfing the web with your smartphone.

To check whether or not your phone is vulnerable, you can go to this link: http://dylanreeve.com/phone.php

If your phone displays your IMEI-number, you are vulnerable to this exploit.

3DS Owners...

Heya people!

If you own a 3DS and a flashcard, do not update to Nintendo's latest firmware, the 4.4.0-10X (where X is your region code) released on September 19th.
The new firmware blocks all flashcards including the Supercard DSTWO and Acekard2i.

I hope this post will save a few people from the inevitable. :)

Internet Safety Reminder

Here at DGEmu, your security is important to us. This is just a friendly reminder that to tell you that the staff will never ask for your account password.

Having worked in the IT field for quite a few years now, I feel that security for users is important, thus why I wrote an article in the PC section of our forums to help users clean out viruses. Expect more of those kinds of articles to help you out. :)

On another note, to all our visitors, there was a new security bulletin published by Microsoft a few days ago regarding an exploit with Internet Explorer that could allow hackers to take full complete control of your computer. This does not affect DGEmu, but if you do visit other sites, you could be at risk. This issue affect all users of Internet Explorer versions 6 to 9, IE10 users are not affected (but seriously, how many of you are actually running Windows 8 right now?)

Microsoft has temporarily released a FixIt for the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer to prevent this issue. You can download it and apply it from here: http://support.micro....com/kb/2757760
Unfortunately, users of 64-bit Internet Explorer will be open to the attack until the next Windows Update is available.

My personal recommendation to all is to simply avoid Internet Explorer for now, and just use an alternative browser such as Firefox or Chrome.

To read more about the issue, here's Microsoft's security bulletin: http://technet.micro...dvisory/2757760
It might be a bit technical, but it is surely interesting for people working in IT. :)

If you have any issues or concerns, don't hesitate to PM me or ask in the PC forums here:
