Out of all the Mario Party games, I would have to say this one is the best. It has impressive mini-games, a fun shop to buy things in, and fun boards. The game is a great party game to me. I will rate it in categories.

gameplay-9/10
The gameplay is REALLY fun. It only got a 9/10 because of the randomness factor. Most of the gameplay is pretty much just luck to win the board game. This is actually really annoying though, as no matter what items you have and how good you are at the minigames, they probably won't save you from someone switching the course of the level and grabbing a star behind them. Yes, you will probably have a lot of coins to buy a star, but when you finally get to it, you'll have probably lost it from landing on bad spaces and people using items on you. There is some strategy involved with items though, and minigames are where the fun is packed into the whole board. Sometimes you won't care if you win or lose, and just want to play minigames.

Graphics-9/10
For its time, the graphics were really well done. The characters are all 3D models, and you won't have any problems with them. You will occassionally see Lugi's blocks-for-legs sometimes. But hey, who cares about beautiful graphics as long as they don't get in the way of the great minigames!

controls-10/10
Yeah, the controls are analog stick and the a button. That's when you're not in a minigame. Controls are different in mini-games, and they are clearly defined when you start one. You won't find any problems here.

Sound-8/10
The sound is nothing special. Except for the background music, which can get really catchy. Seriously you'll be synced with the music more than with the game in your mind. Mini-games have fun sounds too, and it all blends really well.

Overall score-10/10
I don't know why, but you're going to have a GREAT time with this game. It wasn't taken on average with the other scores, but I think this game deserves a 10/10 for the fun you'll have with mini-games. I would give it an 11/10 for multiplayer also, because the mini-games only get better with a friend.
