Need For Speed - Underground 2: Reviews

Game Score: 8/10
To be placed in simple terms, you begin the game as an unaspiring street racer. You have someone teach you the ropes straight from the beginning. You start with no sponsorship deals, or anything of the sort for money or motivation and your choice of cars is uber-limited.
Story: 8/10
There's not much story to ever be involved in racing games, but there have been some exceptions. The Midnight Club series always had a storyline of races until you got new cars, places, and races. Need For Speed had a few. At the start of the game, you have rivals that you beat at different races until a new one emerges. Also, there are races that must be done in order, and sometimes you must place below first to progress the story.
Gameplay 9/10
This, unlike some racing games, can really be classified as one with great gameplay. The controls, especcialy with a steering wheel, are very realisic. Also, it never rushes you outside of races to catch someone, or get to a certain place within a time limit, like Midnight Club, its biggest rival. It is a very simple controlled, easy going, more childish game than other racing games.
Sound/Music 6/10
The sound effects are pretty good. All the cars, however, sound pretty much the same and the passing cars all have the same beeping sound.
The music is debatable. Some are very catchy... others... well... you might want to turn it off.
Replay Value 8/10
The replay value is high. You will want to first complete all 66 events and collect all 18 cars, as well as try and set the fastest records on tracks, and highest scores in mini games. You will keep playing this game for so long. There are several unlockable cars and tune ups. You can also play the races over and over again or you can make your own. You can also customize your cars with your own set of decals (though the space is limited). Points used to upgrade and buy cars are somewhat limited since you can't get points replaying a race or making one up.
Overall 7.7/10
Not too bad a game, but unless you're a fan, there's alot of better games to waste money on!
