Personal Opinion
Let's start about how I feel about the game. I played it both on the computer and DS and It was very fun. To me, it didn't feel boring nor repetitive. At first all I did was just set up my own scenario and let it run its course (I always made sure I had the upperhand advantage). But the game also has several campaigns that you could play to unlock stuff like units or more campaigns.
Gameplay
What you do in this game is that you start out with a measly tribe of whatever your choice like the Franks and so on (or you could in my case and cheat a little bit by giving yourself a headstart, but only in the make your own option). You should then collect resources advance your civilization and build units to fullfill your greatest ambitions whether that is to wage wars to conquer others or to amass wealth with a grand network of trades and diplomacy. Since this is a review for the DS, i want to add that this is a bit different on the PC in which its not as "real time" but turn based which I think is a disappointment.
Graphics
I was suprised how well it looked. The graphics arent bad and it looks quite interesting. The scenery and landscape looks awesome and the characters are interesting
Sound
I never really notice them. but the ones here i guess are upbeat and keeps you playing. the sound effects for battles and civilians are appropriate and fitting.
Last Words
Fun, entertaining, and deceptively educational. the history makes it interesting and the gameplay is actually very fun. It gives you a sense of pride in your civilization when its growing and advancing in technology and such.
