Created by Dr. Kawashima, Brain Age claims to be a way to "Train your brain in just minutes a day". Well... While that remiains to be seen, the general premise is that you do the daily exercises provided each day in order to provide the mental equivalant of physical exercise. While it's not exactly ground breaking research that doing mental math and memory problems are good for you, this is simply another way to make sure that you actually do them on a regular basis. This is less of a normal game, and more like a more grown up version of those learning games they tried to get you to play when you were little.
The game does very little to get you to use it regularly, other than offering more exercises when it is played regularly, and the promise that it is for your own mental benefit. The graphics are pretty much negligible, being more for visual conformation of activities. The game fully utilizes the DS's interface capabilities, using voice recognition for exercises, along with writing recognition. Remarkably, these functions seems to work quite well.
On the flip side, while this is more of a training program than an actual game, the game does contain numerous Sudoku puzzles for those that are into them. In my opinion, this game is a good way to get your brain working in the morning, but once again, not much of entertainment value. Somehow though, I still find it addictive...
