You remember the game well when it first appeared in the late 80s. Playing as Samus you would guide your space bounty hunter through the tunnels of a alien planet and unlock it's secrets. Along the way you would need to collect a slew of new power-ups to help you get to new areas of the alien wolrd and finally come face to face with Mother Brain, the mother of all bounty heads.
Samus appeared in many other games after that, ranging from Super Nintendo, Gameboy, Gameboy Advanced, the Gamecube and finally Nintendo DS.
Once again you take up arms as Samus as you travel from planet to planet in the cold depths of space, searching for ancient alien artifacts to unlock a puzzling mystery. Once again you will travel through a range of alien worlds, collecting power-ups and bonuses along the way to clear through stages, unlock new weapons and unleash them on your enemies and face off head to head with other bounty hunters who are after the same artifacts as you do.
This new Metroid game is almost as visually good looking as the later Nintendo Gamecube version. The action is fast and intense, but also has a mix of puzzels that will give you some rest time in between the cross fire. The music is also very impressive. The game simply sounds wounderful and will help immerse you into the lush landscape of the Metroid Universe.
This is one of the best titles yet to be released on Nintendo DS. Not only does it show off all of the Nintendo DS's hardware power, but it shows just how well the touch screen works, and allows us to play head to head over the Nintendo Wifi connection.
