Ever since Phantasia, the tales of series always gave us what we expected: Animesque characters, romance, adventure, and great action. There really hasnt been an oustanding tales game ( to me) until Tales of Symphonia. It was a great story pilled upon the things we expected and some new twists.
It seems tales of the tempest means to borrow some of thest twists and impliment them into there own game. Tales of the tempest stars a young 14 year old boy named Qualls Cais, a young boy living in a continent called Areura. His little village gets attacked by a monster named spot ,because of a crystal he got from saving an imperial guard. While fighting Spot with his foster father he leans his foster father is really a Lycath which in areura were the race that ruined there world, so the treated Qualls and his father harshly. They decided to run away along with Qualls tag-along frieng Rubia natwick. While running away they were followed by priest soldiers , and just so qalls woulndt get hurt His foster father acted as a decoy so qualls could run and told qualls to look for his real father. Now he has a journey he sets off and we start our adventure.....
The graphics of the game are brilliant especially due to the DS' capebilities they capture the feel of a tales of game. the animeish cutscenes make you wacth the game as well as play it.Although some of the battle animations tend to lag this still is a graphically great looking game.-Graphics 8/10
The sound of the game is a little dull though they do have voice action for the magic spells and beast transformation but other than that nothing really special. you still will hear tha midi soung inthis rpg so the could have done better- sound 5/10
The entertainement is allowing up too 4 player via wifi or link to play on the same team helping one another throug dungeons and various puzzles. the battles are what i loved. they borrowed the 3on3 linear motion from tales of rebirth and implimented it here. it takes me back to then and i sometimes call qualls veigue( i was probally to into the game)-Entertainment 8/10
Playability of the is good, it does like every other tales game and lets you start over with your choice of special things they give at the end of the game. you need to get skill poiints to buy the things at the end of the game. I loved playing the game again ,and i'm almost done with it again so i'll give a high chance replaying. The game plays great looks great and is a nice touch to the tales of franchise so welcome it well just like I did.
Overall this game is everything you'd expect from a tales of game and a little more so, with the addition of cooperative play makes it even better. the Graphics stand out over other DS games and the gameplay is marvelous even though the sound is lacking its still a great experience.-overall 8.5/10
