Konductra: Reviews

Konductra, this is in my opinion a wannabe puzzle game, sure it has the look and feel of the puzzle and certainly has the difficulty down but this simply isn't that great of a game. The overall look of it confused me even though I am an avid fan of puzzle games and enjoy them. Even I was clueless on how this game worked AFTER the tutorial.. but I digress, simply complaining about the game will get me or you for that matter nowhere so here we go into the review.
Graphics - The game looks decent enough, you have multicolored squares.. and black and white conductors, so not exactly mind-blowing but it's a puzzle game so no problems there. The actual menu is quite nice looking and overall the graphics are fine.
Gameplay - This is the basic rundown of the game.. you want to create lines of the same color and then run them through two conductors (Konductors?) to run electricity through them and then you gain points and press on. You set blocks down two at a time anywhere on a rectangular shaped board, so far it sounds easy enough but as you play longer into the game the little quirks of the game get to you. For instance if you are trying to think where to place a piece the time is running, and once it runs out the game randomly places it on the board and then your whole game might get messed up just from that. Also since you always place the first colored block first and then drag your stylus to place the second sometimes the placing of the pieces isn't second nature and causes you to think more on HOW to play them as opposed to WHERE to play them.
There are a variety of modes which may lighten the experience a bit. Just a point gaining mode where you try to get as many points, a vs computer mode, and then the vs a human mode. This if anything is the best part of the game, playing against someone else over a Wi-Fi connecition and being just as frustrated and you are (along with the new quirks in the game for versus play).
Sound - Honestly I didn't hear any sound or if there was it was negligible to me, I heard the electricty going through the blocks and them shattering but other than that I don't remember any real music for the game.
Replayability - Since this is a puzzle game it has no end you can always further your skills with this game, go longer, gain more points, chain more blocks into one giant Konductra fest. But the only reason I see someone playing this again is to play against other people over Wi-Fi.
Difficulty - As I stated before after the tutorial even I myself was confused on what to do even after watching it a few times. I am pretty good puzzler in my opinion but I just couldn't understand the game at all, I somehow beat the level 1 computer and then was just completely destroyed. So in other words this game will take a while to figure out, it isn't a pick up and play game like Tetris.
Overall - This game is not worth it's price tag, it's a below average puzzle game in my opinion and should be a rent before buying. If you like this game then your tastes are different from mine as I don't like to study a game for half an hour to play it. As I said before Rent this game before you buy but always give it a shot because you may just like it.
