Bomberman Land Touch: Reviews

Game Score: 7/10

Bomberman Land Touch, here we are with another game involving our well-known character bomberman, or in this game.. Cheerful White. This game doesn't take on the normal bomberman feel but rather it takes the random assorted minigame approach with the bomberman name all over it.

Story - Well one day you are mysteriously captured by a Pirate! Well...not really, you soon find out that Gold Bomberman hired actors to grab you and place you where you happen to be. Anyway, Gold Bomberman's dad has bought out a Pirate Island Amusement Park where you and your other fellow Bombermen have free reign over the rides and games and such. Soon after getting on the island you find out about some special title given to the person with the best score in the games or something like that. Let the mingames commence!

Graphics - The game takes on a pseudo-3D feel but is mostly just a 2D minigame based game. It doesn't improve on any of the GBA games that I've played for Bomberman but an upgrade of graphics isn't really needed for a game of this sort.

Gameplay - As I've stated before, this game is basically a compliation of many other minigames. After winning such a game you get pieces (Spade. Heart, Diamond, Club) which you use to access other areas of the park. They also try to involve you more by letting you equip certain items like a hat with a flashlight on it so you can see in the dark tunnel but most of these don't seem to have any other purpose than to get past that one particular area. Anyway back to the minigames, as would be expected all the minigames involve bombs of some sort of form be it tossing the back and forth like hot potato or blowing out the fuses so it doesn't explode in your face. Each of these games have a goal to finish and if you complete this goal you get a certain piece and then move on to the next game.

Sound - Each minigame has it's own little tune to it and while this works well in the beginning after a while the music doesn't really do much for the game and I found myself just having the volume completely off and just working my way through the minigames. Even though with my previous comments, the sound isn't really bad so there are no faults here.

Replayability - You can replay any minigame you've already beaten to try and achieve a higher score in it but I suppose that will only last for a little bit. The other factor would be the Wi-Fi feature, while I wasn't able to test this out for myself playing this online is probably one of the redeeming factors of the game allowing you to pit your minigame might against other players.

Difficulty - Since the game relies on minigames the difficulty is easy at first and slowly begins getting more difficult, when I had stopped playing I hadn't lost a game yet but for some people the games may not be as intuitive so a retry or two may be necessary.

Overall - If you liked Warioware: Touched! Then you'll have a blast out of this game, for other who find a slew of minigames boring and not worth playing then this game isn't for you. The game however is good enough to amuse anyone for a few hours of play if anything before the boredom sets in.
