Gunpey is a puzzle game invented by Gunpei Yokoi, also the inventor of the Game Boy and the Game & Watch. This game has already been released in the past I think, on different consoles, but it's been recently re-released for the NDS.
First of all I want to tell you about the game's dinamics.
You have a field that is 5 panels wide and 10 panels tall. You have "pieces" composed of straight diagonal lines and curved lines, coming up and scrolling towards the top.
When a piece arrives at the top of the fiel, it's game over.
What you have to do is to clear lines by making a continuous path from one side of the field to the other. When you finish a line, youy can "attach" single pieces to the finished line, to make a combo. It's easier if you see it of course.
Anyway, this is what the game is about.
The DS version of the game has a story mode, time attack mode, and endless mode.

The graphics are ok but nothing special, although nothing special is what is needed for such a game. The character design is not that great... I don't know. perhaps it's aimed at a younger audience.
The sound is good, every stage has a different soundtrack, and the sound fx are ok.
The game is very addictive, it's a breath of fresh air in the crowded puzzles arena... it's not a tetris clone at all, that's what i like about it, the concept is really new, I love this game!
