I was a Bionicle fan. Then the toy series started to get old as the newer, less interesting ones came out. Most of the handheld games were decent (excluding the attempt at a console game which sucked beyond belief). Other newer lego games were almost no fun at all. Bionicle Heroes is a step in the right direction. This game is made by the same guys that came up with lego star wars.
The graphics are good for ds and the sound is great. The game has plenty of levels and even though they aren't the hardest, you can play through them again when you unlock Makuta mode (which will keep you busy for a long while). While your playing you constantly unlock new powers and upgrades and there soon becomes more first person possibilities than in Metroid Prime Hunters.
The enemies aren't top notch but still can be a pain at times. When you get up to a boss fight however it quickly shifts from super easy to super hard. It's like one second hes running around in circles then the next hes standing there pelting you with heavy fire.
Unlike hunters, the gameplay itself needs worked on. The touch controls are very inaccurate and sometimes becomes a nuisance in the heat of battle. Changing sensitivity doesn't do much to solve this either. However, it still didn't keep me from loving almost every other aspect of the game and with everything the game gives you it is hard to stay mad at it.
The storyline means as much as the storyline in Doom II and there is no reason to think about it while playing the game. It is laid out in some cutscenes that you won't be able to understand unless you are a Bionicle fan of any type. Even if your not, it doesn't matter, just enjoy.
Overall the game leaves a lot of replay value with plenty of secrets to unlock and have fun with. There is also some nice multiplayer(although it requires multiple game packs). If you're an old Bionicle fan you can't help but say that this is the game that should have been made years ago. If you are just a first person shooter fan, this game is still worth playing.
