Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney: Reviews

Game Score: 10/10
Order in court! You are Phoenix Wright, a bloody rookie defense attourney, and you are the only and last hope of your clients who are about to get a death penality for a crime they didn't commit.
So, what can YOU do about it? Well, find proof your client is innocent and point out contradictions in the stories of so-called witnesses.
To the game:
Since Phoenix Wright isn't a "real" new game, but just a remake of the Gyuukuten Saiban GBA game, you're not likely to find flashy 3D graphics, but simple, yet incredibly beutiful drawn enviroments and characters. In my opinion is this a way better solution. Because of the good artworks and expressions the characters get a lot of life and personality.
You can devide PW into two big parts. Part one is the "adventure mode" which is really a lot like a point and click - adventure (like Another Code - Dual Memories), in which you have to talk to witnesses and find hints and proof for your client's innocence. Part two is the "action mode" or "Court mode", where the real battle begins. Take witnesses into to cross-examination and poke into their stories until you see a contradiction, then pull out an evidence to proof it. Break down their cardhouse of lies and show who's the real thug, since this is the only way to save your client.
In "court mode" you can use the microphone to yell "hold it" (if you want to push a witness into talking) "objection" (if you want to object against something the witness said) and "take that" (if you want to rub the witness some evidence under his or her nose). But you shouldn't keep babbling around nonsense. The judge isn't known for his patience and every stupid mistake earns you a penality. After 5 penalities you will be thrown out of court and your client... well, better not talk about it.
But don't worry. You won't have to yell into the microphone if you don't want to (and if you're playing in public it definitely isn't recommended, 'cept you have to keep a reputation as a weirdo), but you can use the buttons or the handy touchscreen controls.
Well, the game isn't perfect. Of course, it's just a GBA remake, so neither the presentation, nor the size of the game is stunning. On the other hand the manga style and the fitting and atmospheric midi tunes are perfect and you real get in touch with game.
As I said, the size of the game is a bit small. There are only 5 cases (4 remakes + 1 DS-exclusive case, in which you can use the DS-features quite interesting), but these are huge and if you avoid any guides and walkthroughs you'll have about 20 hours of megafun.
Before I forget: The BIG pros of the game. And when I say BIG, I mean BIG.
This review is a bit vague and I don't want to go into the characters and the story because they are simply AWESOME. The cases are built like an exciting novel and the characters (though using some painful stereotypes) are just cool. The other HUGE pro (and if I say HUGE I mean HUGE XD) is the humour of the game. Phoenix Wright, the main character, is incredibly sarcastic and always has a snarky comment. You'll laugh yourself silly, that's for sure.
If you like adventures where you have to use your brain and enjoy exciting thriller stories with a lot of humour and an intelligent story, this game will be a freaky addiction you won't lay off till you solved the last case. But be warned. This game has a lot, really, really a lot of text. And you will have to... well... read it. If that's no problem for you, this game definitely earned its 10 of 10 points
