Hiite Utaeru Ds Guitar M06 isn't really a game in the strictest of terms; it's more like a guitar simulator. Coming to the U.S. June 26 as Jam Session DS, M06 is a must own for any musician, whether you play the guitar or not. The "guitar" is strummed with your stylus via the touch screen, and certain areas on the screen can be set aside to do such effects as palm muting. Songs can be recorded and voice can even be added to the mix via the DS's built-in microphone.
Chords are preset to the D-Pad, but you can customize which go where before playing by simply dragging and dropping the chord name into the desired slot. Up to sixteen different chords can be used per one session. Chords can also be transposed (think capo, guitar players), and a neat feature even allows you to do ear training. Gameplay-wise, the game has little to offer so far as accomplishments are involved, but you can play preset chord progressions in the right orer to unlock backgrounds for your top screen. This isn't a traditional game, nor is it a guitar, but it is a useful and neat tool for composing on the fly.
