Phoenix Wright - Ace Attorney - Justice For All: Reviews

Game Score: 10/10
I've recently finished playing Phoenix Wright: Justice for All. Currently, I'm gunning for the first one. It's hard to find in stores, but the sequel was easy to pick up, so this is the one I got. It's not at all confusing to start with the sequel. Though it does refer often to the events of the first game, it usually follows the reference up with an explanation.
Gameplay - The mechanics of gameplay are fantastic. Whether you're looking over the court record for evidence, searching through a witness's testimony for the smallest flaw, or examining the scene of the crime for clues, this game constantly keeps your brain going. Take stock of everything that happens, because that information might prove useful at a later time.
Controls - The menu system is easy to use. There are three ways you can handle cases: With the buttons, the touch screen, or the microphone. The most fun is definitely the microphone, since you actually yell "Objection!" The buttons are the classic way to play, as it was on the japanese GBA version. I personally used a combination of the three ways, but mostly the touch screen.
Graphics - It wouldn't kill the game designers to throw in a few more illustrations for variety, but the graphic novel/anime style of the game and the sprite animation gives life to an otherwise dead court setting. Granted, you don't spend all of your time in court. But the lighthearted nature of the characters shines through everywhere.
Final Verdict - Definitely, definitely don't get this game if you don't like to think. This is a game for the observant, who have a slightly skewed sense of humour. If solving mysteries and exploring crime scenes sounds fun to you, then this little gem is for you. The only downside to this game is its lack of replayability, since the game relies on context-sensitive puzzles you have to solve that don't vary from playthrough to playthrough.
Highly reccommended.
