Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Justice For All: Reviews

Game Score: 8/10

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney - Justice For All. A great title, if you ask me. I can't describe the story in detail here because that would be a great spoiler. But basically, you are a lawyer who goes around hunting for evidences and fighting against your dread rivals in courts. Simpily, this game issn't something that you would play every other day but, like most kind of japanese rpg, there are loads of speech that you can't run away from so it's more like a novel on DS. So there arn't really much action from the game and you need to use your brain for a bit. Oh and just too add, this game is a remake of 'Gyakuten Saiban 2' from GBA, and there arn't any new cases for the DS version.

---Graphics---
Well, frankly speaking, you won't expect a lot for graphics. Animated pictures of characters from the game and thats more or less all of it... but hey, it suits well to the game, and things can be quite detailed even though its in 2D... you need to look for evidences, don't you?

---Sound---
Ohh I just love the game music. They have a nice touch to it, and almost every character have their own theme music so you won't hear the same thing when you are 'speaking' to different people. Too bad that you can only listen to them while you play it. Oh and there are other sound effects too, like when the judge slams his gavel.

---Story---
Won't say much on the story, as spoilers really spoils the game, and it will make the whole game far too easy too. So for the sake of those who haven't played it yet, I won't say much but if you like stories, this is something that you won't want to miss.

---Game mechanics and interface---
Nothing much about the game mechanics and stuff. It is quite clear cut of what you can do in the game, and you won't really get 'lost' in the game because there arn't much options. Not that there arn't much to do, but the game won't continue unless you have shown the right evidence to someone or until you have spoken to a certain witness. One thing worth mentioning though, would be that you can fast foward your speech by tap-and-hold the center 'play' button (the big one in the middle of the touch pad), and i think not everyone have realised that. As for interface, its just simple interactions with characters. But theres one thing special, and that is, in the game, called 'psy-lock'. It functions as a lie detector, and you have to break them by making rational judgements (or guessing).

---Humor---
You can't really ignore the importance of humor in the game if one of the character is a stooge, can you? Maybe it's because I think the way Phoenix sweats is funny, but I must admit, the author have a good sense of humor. You'll see it for yourself when you play it, I hope.

Well, that's about it. Hope what I've said here helped you in your judgement of whether to download the game or not. Although I like this game a lot, theres something I must say. This game does not have much of a replay value. After one or two days of serious playing and when you've reached the end of the game, it would be the exact same thing that you've just played if you are planning to replay. Oh and you better save frequently because you can't save while presenting evidences.
