Yu-Gi-Oh World Championship 2007

This game is for the lovers of Yu-Gi-Oh. With new cards and round the world WIFI connection you can verse friends and complete strangers for fun or to be the next Duel Monsters Champion. Starting with your small starter deck and 1500 DP (duelist points) you duel in game CPU players for more DP to spend on packs which contain cards to configure your deck.

Graphics: 5/10
The tittle screen and menus have simple 2D graphics while during duels you experience 3D graphics. The touch screen houses 2D board very similar to what a physical Yu-Gi-Oh duel would look like as well as phases on the left. The top screen as a 3D duel mat, (big close up small on the opponent's side) with a nice background. When you summon a monster it will appear in 3D (similar to in the Yu-Gi-Oh anime) and some special monsters will have some music and animation. Sadly enough there still hasn't be anything implemented so that there is an animation of a your monster actually ATTACKING the opponent's one.

Sound: 3.5/10
There really isn't much variety to the sounds with one track for the intro, one for the menu, and just a few for the battle for when your winning, nearly the same and being owned.

Gameplay: 3/10
There really is no gameplay to this. No story line of any sort to provide adventure is available. All it is, is kill/defeat/own the opponent, get DP, buy cards, remake deck, kill/defeat/own the opponent etc. doing so unlocks some more monsters/spirits/CPU players which are harder but give more DP. However there also is (I think Nintendo felt that just dueling would be boring without it though it's still boring with it) Duel Challenges so you have to either complete an objective, duel without something, complete a puzzle which you have to win with some cards on that specific turn (so when you select end phase you lose) or survive some duels without stopping or restoring your LP (life points)

Overall: 6/10
No matter how much this game doesn't have, it still is a Yu-Gi-Oh game which tens of thousands of people love and is the new way for Konami to host a championship tournament. My friend says that this is one of the most boring DS games. But he still plays it because its Yu-Gi-Oh.
