Game Score: 10/10
When I first got pokemon Diamond, I thought "wow" pokemon has gone a long way from gbc. This game, is the newest installment in the pokemon rpg series for portable systems. The first thing I noticed when I played were the graphics, they were INCREDIBLE. Everything's 3d, with 2d sprites running around that fit nicely into the graphics. Now i'm going to rate this game into categories
Graphics-10/10
Okay so they're not "hard-core" but I have to say, for a ds game,(especially pokemon) these are amazing. The graphics are crisp and clean, and the pokemon movement flows beautifully. Not to mention that when your pokemon does an attack it's VERY fun to watch. Another thing is when your enemy releases Palkia/Dialga. BEST POKEMON CUT-SCENE EVER! The graphics have nothing to be desired in this game, so don't expect any dissapointment.
sound-8/10
The sound fits every scene correctly, but it's not a "revolutionizing" experience. It's basically the sound a game needs to not be annoying and repetetive. I'm glad it's in there, though, because without it then you would feel lonely when playing it.
controls-10/10
The controls are nice and simple. You'll never be confused with them in this game. Not only that, the touch screen controls won't leave you hanging, and they can't stump you. a button is to select and option, b is to cancel or run while you're walking, y is the select button in this game, and x is start. Directional buttons are for movement. Yeah, it's simple.
gameplay-10/10
Perfect gameplay. You will only occassionally get bored, like when you ev train. Oh yeah, that's right. There are those ev points that were introduced in e/s/r. You see, some pokemon give certain "ev" points. Like Bibarel gives 2 atk points upon defeat. What these points do is that whenever you get 4 of each type of point, then that skill will have an added bonus when the pokemon levels up.So let's say you fight 2 Bibarels as you train your pokemon. When your pokemon levels up after fighting the bibarel,(it doesn't have to level up RIGHT after the fight, just make sure you fought two of them before you level up) then that's 4 ev's. After your pokemon levels up, instead of +1 atk, he/she will get +2 attack. You can find more information on this website (serebii.net) it shows how a lot of the gameplay mechanics work. Anyway, the battling is turn based, and when you level up you gain attributes for you pokemon. Its atk, hp, def, sp.atk, and sp.def will be increased, making its abilities stronger. You can have up to 4 attacks stored on a pokemon, and you'll always have some fun battling with them. (unless you're exp grinding on one pokemon)
personal experience-10/10
When I picked up this game, I couldn't put it down! I had so much fun meeting the new pokemon, and every different area was a unique experience. It was fun to raise my pokemon, and you feel REALLY good when your pokemon evolves at a certain level, or by doing something special. This game will keep you going for a long time.
