Imagine Master Chef: Reviews

Imagine: Master Chef is a game that is all about -- yup, you guessed it! -- cooking. From traditional Japanese dishes to more western cuisine, you get to cook them, under the faithful guidance of TV celebrity Rachel Jones and your bunny friend, Hopper!

Lisa promised her dad that she would cook him a home-cooked meal, but she is rapidly losing faith in herself and is ready to give up the effort. However, as she looks out her window, wishing there was some way to learn how to cook for her dad, an angel from the moon grants her wish, inhabiting her stuffed bunny Hopper and magically getting Rachel Jones to teach her how to cook!

Each day in the game is a cooking lesson, separated by cute minigames and save breaks, as well as interesting trips outside of Lisa's house, which almost always end up being fun (sometimes strange) encounters with friends and strangers, as well as new pots, pans, and utensils for her kitchen. The kitchen she works in becomes customizable in time, and you can change the color and style of the place you work in.

Each day's lesson is graded on three sections: how well you cook the meal, how good it tastes (however they test THAT), and on the garnishes you put onto the meal when it is done. When you are done with the lesson, you can use the recipes you learn to put together your own meals in a sort of free-play mode.

Pros:
- a good pick-up-and-play style of game
- an entertaining break from the real world
- teaches basic instruction-following

Cons:
- very, very little replay value
- cutsie graphics may deter many older or male players
- not much choice in what you do from day to day

Overall, this is a decent game that deserves a chance. The game is cute and funny, but a little "out there".
