Dragon Quest IV: Reviews

Game Score: 10/10
Dragon quest IV Chapters of the chosen has a rather fun story. However, you will run into monotony when it comes to finding different locations, just like any RPG. the main quest tends to be rather short, but it takes a lot of time to build up your character for the fights that you have to face in the future.
Controls: (10) The controls are simply the directional pad and the ABXYLR buttons. The touch screen is not used except as an action screen. No touching is required. Though that isn't important for this style of game and would just over complicate things. This is a good thing because it doesn't leave people confused.
Gameplay: (9) Just like most RPG's, this is designed to be easy to pick up. It was not intended to get your heart racing while you think of how to fight the monsters on the fly. So you will find that it is a relaxing game that tells a story at key points. you just have to beware of going into areas where the monsters are to strong for you and your party. I would recommend slowing down the text speed so you don't miss things that could be of interest.
Graphics: (8) For graphics this is decent for a DS game in general, but nowhere near the greatest potential of the system. But considering the game, you really don't need it to look excessively good.
Other notes: the game is set up in separate chapters for each character of the party that you eventually meet up with. the prologue covers the introduction of the main character (you) with the gender that you chose to begin with. This part is short and you will quickly advance to the next chapter. I would definitely recommend this game for someone looking for a nice fantasy RPG that doesn't require you to think fast. Fans of the series should be a given though.
