Professor Layton and the Curious Village: Reviews

I loved this game and didn't put it down for the week or so it took me to complete it. If you enjoy using your brain, thinking logically but are fed up with Brain Training type of nagging games then you should try this.

You are playing as Professor Layton and his sidekick, all the action takes place in the mysterious village filled with some very odd villagers. Puzzles range from slide the shapes to free a specific shape as in traffic jam, river crossing puzzles, to bizzare story puzzles that have you banging your head against the screen when the penny finally drops. All this is wrapped up in wonderfully illustrated game enviroment - the drawings reminded me of the 1980s cartoon Dogtanian and the three muskerhounds.... with occasional cut scenes, the plot is twisty enough to keep you interested, and the music is varied enough to keep the atmosphere going.
You have to keep checking in odd areas for hidden coins (and other fun items!) which can buy you hints for the puzzles and you will need them in some of the more frustrating ones... you need to complete the puzzles set by the curious villagers in order to progress with the story. Personally I can't wait for the sequel to be released in english. Definatly give this game a try.
