PokerDome - Poker Master

If you are looking to learn Texas Hold-em Poker or take your game to the next level, then this poker game is the one for you. The difference betwen this game and other DS poker games is the level of detail put into teaching you the game. This game can be enjoyed by all levels of poker players, from casual gamers to home gamers. The information learned from the lessons can be successfully applied to video and live poker play.

The value in this game comes from the comprehension of various aspects to the game including bluffing, mathmatics, poker hands, odds, tournament stategy, drawing hands, the nuts, betting and many other specific details to the game and playing winning poker.

The game play is decent. Actual poker game play is easy to follow. Placing bets, calling, and folding is made simple with easy to see symbols and a slider for bet amounts. The opponent's play is not too advanced, however, coming away with the win in every tounanment is no sure thing. Success can be increased when every hand is not played(i.e learn to fold).

The graphics and sounds are not a big deal for this type of game. Graphics include simple playing cards and sounds include chip noise and card shuffling. neither is going to impress or turn you away from this game.

The lessons are taught in simple, short sequences which require reading short paragraphs and viewing sample game scenerios. Each lesson is followed by short tests to review the key points ofthe lessons and include 20 question quizzes, matching tests, and mini heads-up poker games. Average scores can then unlock new more advanced lessons which build upon the previously taught lessons. Sample lesson titles include "The Inside Straight Draw" and "Open-Ended Straight Draws". Eight mini games can be selected to reinforce the essential lesson points and are fun to try again and again.

Overall, I rate this game, PokerDome - Poker Master, very highly. If you like Texas Hold-em, watch it on TV, and ever wanted to know the hows and whys of the game, then add this poker game to your collection.
