Dragon quest IX is a nice addition to anybodies NDS set of games. The story is quite engaging in my opinion and has a lot of neat things that you couldn't do in any other dragon quest game. such as character customization.

Gameplay: (9) I believe that this game is very enjoyable and easy to pick up and play. enough said.

Controls: (10) though some would complain about it. I find it nice that they went through the trouble to make it so you can control the game by the buttons or by touch screen. It allows you to choose how you play depending on how lazy you are feeling.

Graphics: (9.5) This is the first Dragon quest game for the DS to use 3d rendering for the characters and it does it beautifully (not just the monsters this time). Not only that but the characters being customizable makes it more engaging. Though something funny I have noticed is that they cheat for characters that are not important to the storyline by using sprites.

Replay value: (9) I've never been to keen on replay value anyway I play games over and over again even though I know every inch of the game. that being said. I would say this game has plenty of it with all the things you can go around and collect, the side quests, the character customization, and the main story itself. There is lots of fun to be had with this game even after you destroy the main story.

So yeah. grab it if you like RPG's
