There's a zombie on your lawn.
The oddly entertaining Tower Defense game by PopCap makes it to the Nintendo DS. Using your stylus, you grow your plants in order to fend off wave after wave of zombies and prevent them from eating your brains. As the game goes on, the zombies begin devising means of bypassing your defenses, be it wearing increasingly tough armor, moving around plants that would otherwise obstruct them, or just outright steamrolling over them to clear a path for the rest. Fortunately, with the completion of each level, you are given a new plant that can make the upcoming level manageable.
Really, compared to the PC version, there isn't much difference to the game. Aside from a few minigames that stand out due to unique use of the touch screen or microphone, and a versus mode, the gameplay (and levels) is largely the same. One could say that this version is inferior due to the unique features not quite making up for simpler graphics and animation, and slightly glitchy programming (the Starfruit's accuracy and the Jack-In-The-Box Zombie's music are two notable examples). In my opinion, this game would be average at best, at least in comparison to the PC Plants vs. Zombies.
...Though the Air Raid minigame is unusually fun.
